Unit 1
Tower of Possibilities

Can architecture be appreciated as material culture interpreted through the work of an architect? Students are encouraged to explore the section in a compact vertical solution and to think out-of-the-box on the usage of such a prominent site in a part of the city that has a wide mix of artistic, commercial, residential and institutional character as heritage.

Unit 2
Productive Climates

Architecture orchestrates systems and space into a morphogenetic physical atmosphere of the sensorial, phenomenon, physiological and psychological where climate and building form a synergistic response and feedback, delicately balanced on a design intention.

Unit 3
Grammar of a Building Element

Students are to select a building element of their choice and through a series of probes, investigate its spatial and performative qualities alongside its historical contexts. The objective is to excavate the element’s potential beyond its blunt instrumentality and to eventually position it as a “grammar” to orchestrate the library’s burgeoning heterotopic experiences within a single edifice.
